Barb Heim, a teacher for 35 years, noticed one of her students not acting himself. At recess Harrison Conner would turn pale and have to sit down while the other kids were playing. After a trip to the hospital over the holiday break, was later diagnosed with leukemia.
As Harrison fought to make his recovery, Heim volunteered to drive out to his home after school to make sure he wouldn't fall behind.
