A Strawberry Moon Will Rise On Tuesday

A 'Strawberry Supermoon' will light up the night sky on Tuesday. The phenomena gets its name from the Algonquin tribe, who named it after strawberry harvesting season. Supermoons appear when the moon is full and at its closest orbital distance to Earth. The best time to view the Strawberry Supermoon will be just before 8pm EST on Tuesday night. Not sure what that means for us here in the Mid West though but watch out for it when it gets dark.

US-ASTRONOMY-MOON

A strawberry moon, the last super moon of 2021 is seen over Washington, DC, on June 24, 2021. - The first full moon of summer 2021, also known as the Strawberry Moon, rises June 24, marking the last supermoon of the year. June's full moon is often referred to as the Strawberry Moon because it falls during the strawberry harvesting season in the northeastern US. Similarly, June's full moon has also been called the Rose Moon because it occurs around the time roses bloom.
