HS Football Player In Photo Praying for Opponent's Cancer-Stricken Mom

In a touching scene that occurred at a Texas high school football game over the weekend, a player for the home team joined a player from the visiting squad to pray for the latter's mother, who's suffering from cancer. Senior Gage Smith, who plays for Sherman High School, says he knows West Mesquite player Ty Jordan from a previous team they were part of. Knowing Jordan's mother is ill, Smith joined him on the field after the game to join him in prayer. "When you're playing the game, you're playing to win and the other team is the enemy," Smith says. "But afterward, you still have respect for the other opponent. I just had a moment with him, praying over him, his mom, and his family." Not only did the gesture touch the hundreds of fans in attendance, but it also captured the hearts of hundreds of thousands more when Smith's aunt posted photos of the pair on Facebook.
