On August 4th, 2018 Tyson was driving back to his apartment in Orem where he lived with his two older brothers. He had come home to Kamas just briefly to retrieve a couple things he left when he moved out. While driving towards Heber on US-40 a vehicle driving from the opposite direction drifted across the multi-purpose lane where it proceeded to hit two vehicles before hitting Tyson's car head-on.
Tyson is friends with Kylie's sister, Amber. They were both football managers in High School.
The valley of Kamas has rallied for him and put together a GoFundMe for him.
