TEXT TOPIC: What is some great advice you got and used it?

I started working @ government. My friends dad said to invest 10% of my paycheck into TSP before I got my first check. He said I'll figure a budget out without 10% if I never see it in the first place. Best. Advice. Ever.

Got pregnant @ 21. Barely knew him. Aunt said to never say bad/negative things to daughter about him. She's 16 now & thanked me for that.

don't let your hurt inner child make your adult decisions. My grandpa was a wise man.

Advice. My mom said you can dip your toe in the pity pond but you can't wallow in it. Means feel the emotion but then move on. It has served me well

was told to buy diapers every time i got paid before the baby came. I've only had to buy diapers three times since having her. She's a year old in a couple weeks

best advice for someone in a supervisory or management role I've ever gotten was "you don't need to be an expert at everything but always know who your experts are"

Got some advice to quit a job that made me cry and have a panic attack almost every day. Didn't have a job for 6 weeks while moving but I just got two part time jobs and I'll be pulling in a few hundred EXTRA every month and I'm happier than I've been in a long time

Random trucker told me fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I don't know if it was words from a stranger with no idea what I was going through but I broke my cycle of abusive relationships and left that job. I now have a man that treats me like a queen and a job I love and totally kick ass at ??

I'm a photographer and if it wasn't for my friend pushing me to get into I wouldn't have, his advice was "create art with your camera showing people things they usually miss", I've been shooting for 3 years.

Advice from my dad. You get what you work for, not what you wish for.

my dad's advice it's the quiet ones you need to watch out for and it proved to be true ha ha

let my husband be a dad. Just because he patents different than me doesn't mean it's wrong.

therapy saved my life is the best thing I could have ever done for myself

Respond don't react to children be the adult who is better

advice we took. We were given "Total Money Makeover" for our wedding. We follow Dave Ramsey's plan now and we are debt free and loving the financial freedom and peace that comes with being debt free!

Start now on your dreams, goals and ambitions because there is never a good time

grandma said "don't let worry rob you from this special gift of life. If you can't take a step NOW to the solution, it isn't worth your thoughts. You are what you think about. Worry causes disease, and who has time for that." RIP grams! She was THE BEST

Don't be an idiot. It changed my life.

advise to be early is for be on time to be in time is to be late. Heard that from my marching band director have lived by that ever since. Listener Reed Arthur

my grandpa started telling me when I started working to never be the rotten apple that will make work miserable for the other, once you start feeling that you don't want to be there its time to move on. Once I started struggling to get up in the morning for work I knew is was time to move on and it was the best decision I've made thanks to his advice.

Don’t be a fool, wrap your tool

life advice, worrying is like a rocking chair, it'll give you something to do but you're not going to go anywhere. From dad

when divorcing my x always new just what to say. Councilor said "stop listening to what he says and listen to what he does" changed my life! I now apply this advice to everyone. It's a game changer.
