iHeartMedia Salt Lake City has proudly partnered with Saprea, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity, funded by a combination of public and private donations to liberate individuals and society from child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts.
THE SAPREA STORY
In a conversation with his wife, Shelaine, Derek Maxfield lamented that someone should “do something” to help adult female survivors of child sexual abuse find hope and healing. He recognized that when you give someone hope and resources, they become the steward of their own healing. Together in 2014, the Maxfield family founded Saprea to fight child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts through healing and prevention services.
Saprea has a location right here in Utah. They empower healing for individuals who were sexually abused as children or adolescents through retreats, support groups, and online resources.
Saprea educates and engages parents and caregivers to protect children from sexual abuse through community and online resources. They drive awareness to motivate individuals to take action against child sexual abuse.
