Nurses House Charity

Hospital emergency

Nurses House is a nurse-managed, non-profit organization dedicated to helping registered nurses in need.

Nurses House is the only charity in the entire nation dedicated to aiding nurses who become ill, injured, or disabled on the job.

The nurses we serve come from all 50 states and are a very diverse group, ranging in age from their 20s to 80s. While some Nurses House guests face short term illness or injury, others are permanently disabled. Many nurses need funds to help pay for such basic needs as rent or mortgage, health insurance or prescriptions. Some face imminent eviction.

Nurses House has been helping nurses since 1924 and as the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps across the country, they have been overwhelmed with applications from health care workers who have become compromised by COVID-19. With estimates predicting that nearly half of America’s 4 million nurses are projected to be exposed to or contract coronavirus over the next year, Nurses House’s funds from last year will quickly disappear and they rely on the support from donors.

Currently, 20 new nurses are applying for aid from Nurses House everyday.
