Jaime Eblen was working as a customer service representative at Jet Blue and raising her 3 boys when she received the news that she had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. Five years earlier she went through a devastating divorce and was left to care for her family on her own. Jaime’s unconquerable spirit and fierce devotion to her family carried her through those difficult years, but she now faces a disease that robs her of her muscle functions and her ability to speak. Her diagnosis came in January 2018, and since that time her 3 sons who are now 17, 19, and 23 have taken on the role of full time caregivers. This includes feeding, dressing, care and all personal hygiene tasks that take more movement than an index finger.
Jaime has blessed the lives of many people, and her friends and members of the community are putting together a dance concert to honor Jaime and raise funds for her increasing necessary care. The concert will feature nationally acclaimed dancers such as Patrick Cubbedge, Jeffrey Louizia, Derrick Louizia, Andrea Bell Jensen, Josh Perkins, Ashlee Vilos, and Tristan Gray with special guest performer Alex Boye. The concert is November 9th at 6:30pm at Wasatch Junior High. Tickets can be purchased online through Brown Paper Tickets or at the door. All proceeds go to benefit Jaime and her family in getting the home health care she truly needs.
