Utah Resident Surprised by a Monthly Fee to Turn on Automatic Sprinklers

Nila Wootton of Lindon, Utah purchased a sprinkler control system five years ago from a company named Skydrop. "Up front cost was all that we had to pay," Wootton said. "I think it's about $250."

The system allowed Wootton to control her sprinklers from her phone and computer but was recently locked out unless she pays a monthly $1.99 fee. She isn’t alone, the company’s Facebook page has numerous complaints about being locked out of their systems.

Skydrop posted this open letter to their customers.
