California Mayor’s Son Arrested for Assault on Man with Autism

The son of Rolling Hills Mayor Patrick Wilson has been arrested in a violent caught-on-camera assault of a man with autism. Declan Bell-Wilson, 18, was arrested along with Korey Streeter, 18, of Palos Verdes Estates, at their homes.

Video of the attack was posted on social media on March 25, and that is when the sheriff’s office became aware of it. The video shows two men violently beat another man as he lay on the ground. They punched and kicked the man then stole items from his pockets. Even though witnesses were present during the attack, the men did not stop. A second video show the two men ordering the victim to strip down to his underwear.

Detectives have identified the victim as a man with autism. He didn’t report the crime and his parents weren’t aware of the attack until the video was posted.

"It's just disturbing because it shows a lack of appreciation of life. It's self-centeredness and it's sad to see what happens," said Rolling Hills Estates resident Stacy Martin.

Rolling Hills is a gated community in Los Angeles County, California.
