Utah Man Kicked out of Las Vegas Hotel for Being in the Restroom Too Long

Carlos and Jaymie Cardenas were kicked out of their hotel during their honeymoon in Las Vegas. It started when security at the Venetian Hotel was notified of a suspicious person in a men’s restroom. Jaymie Cardenas said her husband was in the restroom for about ten minutes when security entered and started knocking on the stall door asking for ID. She added that her husband opened the door while still seated on the toilet to show security that he was using the restroom.

After an hour-long discussion with security showing that the couple were guests at the hotel, they were asked to leave. Jamie Cardenas said that security said if her husband comes back to the Venetian, he will be arrested.

The couple were charged nearly $700 for their stay and were refused a refund according to Jaymie.

"I tried to call numerous times I was hung up on. This was our honeymoon. We had to drive back to Salt Lake that same night we left."

A Venetian spokesperson responded to the claims:

"The safety and security of our guests and team members is our top priority. In reference to the social media post, our surveillance and security teams acted in line with normal protocols that inform them when to make contact with a guest. Those protocols are non-discriminatory and apply equally to all guests. At the time contact was made with this guest, he unfortunately became uncooperative and was subsequently asked to leave the resort."
