90-year-old Wanda had recently lost her son. He was all she had left and being without him drove her to do something that most of us wouldn’t… ask for help.
Wanda penned a letter to a neighbor that she had never met.
"Would you consider to become my friend? I’m 90 years old, live alone. All my friends have passed away. I’m so lonesome and scared. Please I pray for someone."
When Marleen Brooks opened the letter addressed to her, she was heartbroken and knew she needed to do something.
Marleen immediately went over to Wanda’s house to meet her. Wanda said "I hope you didn't think I was stupid for writing you, but I had to do something. Thank you so much for coming over. I've lived here for 50 years and don't know any of my neighbors."
Now Marleen and he best friend visit Wanda on a regular basis and she is free to call anytime she needs someone to talk to.
