10-Year-Old John Haygood was arrested last week in his Florida school for an incident that had happened 6 months ago.
A teacher pressed criminal charges on John after he attacked him in October. John was asked to come to the school for testing last week then was arrested by waiting officers. A report filed about the attack said the charges were filed by the teacher because John "had been given plenty of opportunities to change his behavior and has not," a report said.
John is autistic. Autism spectrum disorder is a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how a person behaves and interacts with others, communicates, and learns.
His mother, Luanne Haygood filmed the encounter with the officers.
