Teen #48HoursMissingChallenge Is Dangerous and Drains Police Resources

A new teen challenge is quickly gaining popularity and while they may think it’s cool, it’s causing panic for parents and is straining police departments.The challenge involves the participant to go missing for 48 hours, and many friends are daring each other to do it. The goal? To have your picture and/or name appear on social media as missing. They then receive points for each share and like their social post receives.Officer John Lacy with the Overland Park Police Department in Kansas said the challenge is draining law enforcement resources."We are going to take that call very serious," Lacy said. "You are wasting our time, and you are wasting our resources.Those who participate in the #48HoursMissingChallenge could be criminally charged.
