Thousands of Utah defense employees returned to work Monday -- a week after they were among the furloughed, in the partial federal government shutdown.
At Hill Air Force Base, some 2700 material command workers were ordered back onto the job. And at the Utah National Guard, nearly all of about 1200 furloughed employees were also called back.
But questions remain, as to whether the employees will receive back pay for the week they missed.
And many other federal workers in the state -- including employees of the IRS office, in Ogden -- remain furloughed.
