A 22-month-old Stansbury Park toddler was fighting for her life, Tuesday afternoon, after being run over by the family van.

The Tooele County Sheriffs Department reports, the accident occurred when the child's mother briefly left the victim seated, in the driver's seat, with the door open.

The victim's older brother, 5, crawled over the seat, from the back... put the keys in the ignition...and turned it.

Police say he did not start the van, but did turn the key enough to allow the vehicle to be shifted into neutral.

As it began to roll, the young girl fell out, and was run over by the van's front, driver's side tire.

She was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in critical condition.

The accident is still being investigated.
