Salt Lake's #1 hit music station and #1 for new music!

It's Official: Salt Lake Ties a Heat Record, Set While WWI was Still Raging

Posted June 11th, 2013 @ 10:50am by Talk Radio 105.7 FM / 570 AM

Mother Nature officially tied a 95-year-old record Monday, by driving the thermometer -- in Salt Lake City -- up to an even 100 degrees.

And we know one thing -- the heat caused a problem, this time around, that it couldn't in 1918.

There were no freeways then -- barely any cars, in the Salt Lake Valley.

But, for the third time in about a week, the early-season heat caused a portion of I-15 to buckle.

Repair crews worked overnight, to clean up the mess, in the southbound I-15 lanes, near 138th South.
