Utah Governor Gary Herbert -- the state's highest-ranking Republcan -- wants a resolution to the state attorney general saga.

The governor did not go so far as to tell John Swallow he should resign the job he's held for five months.

But he did tell reporters, if Swallow worked for him, he would be relieved of his duties.

Wednesday morning -- the day after the governor's comments -- Swallow reiterated, he won't resign...and remains confident investigations will show he's done nothing wrong.
