Immitation may be the sincerest form of flattery...but Salt Lake police aren't pleased, when it leads to a jewelry store heist.

Authorities say two men -- dressed in shirts with the word "police" on them, and wearing guns in holsters -- gained the confidence of jewelry store employees, and then robbed them.

The incident occurred Tuesday morning, at the Jewelers Guild, on 7th East, 6th South.

Police say the suspects told the employees they were looking for stolen jewelry, then helped themselves to the contents of the safe after staff members led them to it.

Authorities are searching for a 6' 5" black male...and a 6' 2" white man.  Both are described as muscular and over 200 pounds.

Police do not believe the suspects drew their weapons...and there were no injuries.
