(C|Net) Those of you around in the 80s and 90s know that MTV was a big deal. After it launched with The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star", MTV completely changed the way we listened to music. CDs, Streaming, YouTube, iHeartRadio, etc. were still on the horizon. The look of bands and singers were suddenly way more important than they had ever been before. Well, in recent years, the music video has all but disappeared from the MTV airwaves.

But, this July 4th, that will all change - temporarily. From 6A-6P MTV, VH1, and CMT will return to playing music videos. Tune in for the "ultimate party playlist" for fans of pop, country, hip-hop, indie, and electronic dance music.
